Going Back To Basics

going back to basics jp

Okay i’m not talking about going back to basics to the extent of that picture above but more going back to basics in terms of getting sh*t done. As of just recently I have been getting busier and busier but I am getting lazier and lazier, needless to say this is not a good mix. So to combat this I am going to go back to the basic productivity activities that I used to do.

Firstly I am going to start writing sh*t down again and making lists, as I’ve discussed before writing stuff down with a notepad and pen is the best way of getting yourself to be more productive, seeing that goal written down in your own handwriting can have a big effect on you not to mention it is incredibly satisfying to tick something off your to-do list.

It also allows you to plan out your day when you write things down because you’re not constantly thinking “I’ve got so much to do, I’ve got to do this and that” you just write it down and get on with it, this also makes it easier to think clearly as you have a clear mind.

Secondly I am going to start going for walks and listening to podcasts while on my walk again, this really helps me to clear my head and gives me some time out to think as well as letting me get in a bit extra exercise. One thing a lot of successful people share is they have dedicated time for themselves and allow themselves some time to clear their head.

Finally I am going to spend less time on Instagram as this seems to be eating up all my free-time at the moment so I will be setting out certain times where I can check social media. On that note I am going to leave this one here, so I will leave you with this:

“Days are expensive. When you spend a day you have one less day to spend. So make sure you spend each one wisely.” – Jim Rohn

Thank you for reading this one, its a bit shorter than my normal post but that’s probably a good thing. Leave a like if you enjoyed it and I encourage any of you struggling with productivity to try out these tips as well. Hit follow if you would like to keep up to date with my blog as I post twice a week, thank you again and I shall see you on Tuesday. Ciao!

Make A Difference!

make a difference

The sad truth is we are not going to live forever, one day we are all going to perish and end up in a wooden casket or get turned to ashes, and that is fine, that it a part of life. The sad part of that is once you are dead you will be gone, you will be nothing but a memory in the hearts of your loved ones. I do not like the thought of that, I want to leave something behind, a legacy of sorts, I do not want to be buried and forgotten about, I want my life to have meant something, I want to have achieved something with my life and most importantly I want to make a difference to peoples lives.

That is why I do this blog every week, that is why I try to create YouTube videos when I have free time. I want to make people laugh, I want to make someones day that little bit brighter, sure its not like I am making a global impact that is going to change the world but we don’t need to, you just need to make a difference to someones life, if I affect just 1 persons life then I will be happy.

When we here about people making a difference it’s these big things that will change numerous peoples lives forever, that is something I admire to and would like to accomplish but just for a second imagine the butterfly effect of having a small effect on someone’s life and how that could ultimately completely reshape them as a person or reshape their future.

Let’s take a more extreme but not entirely unlikely circumstance of this, say you are a Youtuber and you make funny videos and you just want to make people laugh and brighten up their day, if the right person see’s that at the right time it could potentially save someone’s life. If someone is incredibly hurt or upset and is considering ending their life and all of a sudden they see something that makes them laugh and adds some joy into their lives even if it is only for a couple of minutes that could cause them to reconsider their actions. (That sounds a bit extreme and slightly morbid but it isn’t out the realms of possibility).

My point is try to make a difference. You are not going to be on this planet forever but you can create something that will be or failing that you can make a difference to someones life and completely alter their future for the better. Hopefully that provides you with some food for thought and helps to push you to make a positive difference to just one persons life. On that note I am going to leave you with this:

“The world is full of good people. If you can’t find one, be one.”

Thank you very much for reading! A bit of a morbid one today but it is something that people should really try to do and it would make the world a much better and happier place. What’s The Worst That Could Happen?

Whats the worst that could happen jpeg

Okay first off lets start by saying I’m not sponsored by Dr Pepper, I just love their tagline! But seriously what is the worst that could happen? This is something I find I am asking myself more and more just as of recently especially since I am trying to be more positive and happier. So if you have been following this blog for a while then you will know I have suffered from anxiety for many years and as of recently when I started being more positive it has massively improved.

This little question has been a big part of me lowering my anxiety and doing things that I wouldn’t normally do, and it is something I encourage all of you to try as well. If something scares you or makes you feel uncomfortable then do it, as they say feel the fear but do it anyway. I have learnt that doing the things that scare you is how you grow as a person and find out more about yourself, you grow from doing sh*t that scares you, sure you may be scared at the time but once it is done and you look back on it and think “I did that” there is a huge amount of self confidence that can be gained from it.

It is almost guaranteed that whatever that event or situation is, it will not be as scary once you are doing it, the build up to something is usually far worse than the actual event itself, even if the event is scary you will benefit from that afterwards, you will be well on your way to conquer that fear.

Because of this I now try to do things that scare me, things that may seem like small acts to others but are usually things that would terrify me. First I changed my look by getting a new hairstyle, first time in about 15 years I’ve had a different hairstyle so I was naturally abit nervous at first but I did it and I love my new look. Then I tried contact lenses, for anyone who knows me you will know I have a thing when it comes to eyes, I am very squeamish when it comes to eyes and I never thought I’d be able to wear contacts but I did it, I just thought “F*ck it” and went for it, now although I didn’t keep the contacts I am able to touch my eyes no problem whereas before I would have freaked out trying to do that.

I also recently posted my blog picture and linked my blog up with my Instagram account, I am naturally a very shy and quiet person, I NEVER post on social media as a general rule so to announce to all my friends and the rest of Instagram that I have a blog and they could check it out by following the link, that was huge for me and I kept doubting whether I should do it or not but then again I just went for it and I am so glad I did.

Okay I am rambling on again so I will bring this to a close, I am going to set you a task, this week I want you to do something you wouldn’t normally do. Something that scares you whether that is going on a roller coaster or on something that’s very tall if you are afraid of heights, or volunteering to do that speech at college/work. Anything that you wouldn’t normally do… just do it this time and once you have done it look back at it and just think “I did that” and give yourself a pat on the back. Trust me if you start doing this you will become much more self confident and you will grow from it. You will also open yourself up to new opportunities that you would otherwise have been too scared to do.

Before I rabbit on anymore I am going to leave you with this:

“Psychology says: Go with the choice that scares you the most, because that’s the one that’s going to help you grow.”

Thank you very much for reading this one, please have a go at my little challenge and let me know how you got on with it in the comments. Hit like if you enjoyed it and want to see more content like this, I post twice a week so follow me if you would like to be updated every time I post. Thanks again and as usual I will see you on Friday. Ciao!

The Art Of Not Giving A F*ck

art-of-not-giving-a-fuck-jpeg

The number one reason people don’t do things they want to do is because they care what other people think, this prevents them from reaching their goals, taking risks or living to their full potential because they are so terrified of being judged.

One thing that will benefit anybody reading this, is learning the subtle art of not giving a f*ck, if you learn this I guarantee your confidence will go through the roof, you will be much happier and you will achieve so much more than you would have achieved if you keep caring about what people think.

Truth is, in a persons mind they are the main character in their story, everyone else is just a side character, people do not care about what those side characters are doing anywhere near as much as people think.

It takes practice but stop caring what other people think. Let’s have an example of what i’m talking about, say you post a picture of yourself on Facebook, say you are showing a birth mark that you are incredibly self conscious about, if someone looks at that and says/thinks “Ew that’s ugly why would they post that” that says much more about them than it does about you, it shows you are confident enough to show off your flaws and your imperfections whereas that person who insulted you is secretly insecure about part of their own body image and doesn’t even have the confidence to show it off themselves so they decide to insult you to make themselves feel better.

Really who cares what people think, what does it matter what anyone says about you, if they compliment or admire you for whatever you are doing then groovy but if they try to insult you that just shows their own insecurities. When someone see’s something they are jealous of or they are insecure about they are inclined to get defensive and enter attack mode and insult you and try to put you down to make themselves feel better, don’t give them that satisfaction.

If you really want to do something then do it! Don’t let anyone stop you from following your dreams or posting that picture on social media or starting up that YouTube channel! F*ck what other people think. On that note I am going to leave you with this:

“What other people think of you is not your business. If you start to make that business your business, you will be offended for the rest of your life” – Deepak Chopra”

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday, I didn’t have the time to write a post that was good enough quality before I had to go to work. Thank you ever so much for reading this one and I encourage you to start making a conscious effort to care less about what other people think, what’s the worst that can happen? If you enjoyed this one please like it and maybe leave me a comment to give me your opinion. I post twice a week every week so feel free to follow me to keep up to date with my content, thanks again! I shall see you next Tuesday. Ciao!

Mindset Is Everything

Mindset is key, it is everything, it is quite possibly the best thing you could ever possibly change. A lot of people have a negative mindset, spending the time and effort to change this into a positive one is the best investment you could ever make.

If you are attempting anything with a negative mindset you are setting yourself up to fail, as they say a negative mind will never give a positive life. Whether this is with business, an exam or losing weight if you develop a more positive mindset you will find that you are much likely to succeed.

When you have a negative outlook you tend to create mountains out of molehills and create obstacles that don’t exist and you are more likely to turn down opportunities that could change your life because you see every negative thing that could possibly happen 10 miles down the line.

Not only this but when you start to be more positive you become so much more happier, so much happier! Trust me I can verify it because changing my mindset has completely altered my life and made me so much more happier.

How did I do it? Challenge your thinking, don’t over analyse or assume bad things will happen, control your thoughts like if a bad thought enters your head challenge whether it is realistic or not or whether you are making something out of nothing. Also please try to remove negative sources from your life this will massively help you such as people or the news or Facebook posts.

There best advice I can possibly give you is invest in yourself, spend 10-20 pounds on a self help book, read it, absorb everything it says and carry it out. My personal recommendation that I have read is one I’ve mentioned alot it is “Mind Power” by James Borg but another good one I’ve yet to read is “Who says you cant? You do” by Daniel Chidiac though I will give you a review on that one once I’ve read it.

The topic of how to be more positive and changing your mindset is a topic I want to cover again in more detail in the future after I have prepared a lot of tips and techniques you can use, but for now I’m going to leave you with this:

“A negative mind will never give a positive life”

I really love that quote and it’s very true hence why I’ve used it twice in this post, I highly recommend you invest in a self help book and actually do what it says if you would like to change your mindset and be more positive. Anyways thank you very much for reading, I’ve noticed a couple of people who like almost every post I do which is really nice! It’s great to have my writing mojo back now I’m training again. Please leave a like if you enjoyed it or comment to let me know your thoughts and opinions. I hope to see you again on Friday. Ciao!

My 2017 Goals

Well I said I would have a think about it and post my goals/schedule for 2017 so here it is, firstly i’d just like to say I am posting this so I am held accountable and to make sure I achieve what I set out to do this year, if you have goals I highly recommend you do something similar to hold yourself accountable.

My 2017 Goals:

  • Reach 25000 views a month on my blog
  • Clean up my diet
    • Eat healthier
    • Take multivitamins
  • Finish my college course
  • Start personal training course
  • Reach 5000 subs on YouTube
  • Expand my fitness knowledge
  • Read 1 book every month
  • Create a mobile game
  • Travel to Wales
  • Travel to London
  • Be Happier
    • Write down 3 things i’m grateful for every single day

Okay so there is a couple personal ones in there like travelling to Wales and London which don’t seem like goals but for someone who has suffered with anxiety for many years they are really big goals, plus I’ve always wanted to go London and I have friends who live in Wales.

Some of the goals above I am going to have to breakdown into mini goals like the milestone points with blog and YouTube but other than that they are what I would like to achieve this year. I will also be carrying on with my weight training because I love it but that doesn’t need to be a goal because I would do that anyway, the only reason I wouldn’t do that is if I was that ill I couldn’t leave bed.

As for my Schedule I am going to:

  • Upload Blog – Tuesday & Friday
  • Upload YouTube video – Wednesday & Saturday
  • Reading – An hour every night
  • Study game Development – 2 hours both Saturday & Sunday

So yeah that is pretty much it, there is a few other things I need to add in and arrange but that is basically my goals and schedule, I am going to have to add these all in gradually though so I don’t get overloaded and they become habits and just something I do automatically. But for now i am going to leave you with this:

“You only grow when you push yourself beyond your perceived limits. When you demand more from yourself you will get more”

Thank you guys ever so much for reading, hopefully this will encourage you to do the same and hold yourselves accountable for your 2017 goals. Hit like if you enjoyed it and leave me a comment to tell me your opinion or so you have someone to hold you accountable. Please follow if you want to keep up to date with my content, thanks again. I will see you this Friday for another post. Ciao!

You Only Live Once!

*WARNING – SOME PEOPLE MAY BE TRIGGERED WITH THIS POST AS IT IS INCREDIBLY BLUNT BUT I FEEL LIKE IT IS NEEDED*

You’re going to die some day, one day we will all pass away, you only have this one life. MAKE THE MOST OF IT!!

No matter what you plan on doing there will always be someone standing there saying why, you want to lose weight? “Why would you want to do that? Controlling what you eat and doing exercise”. You want to start up your own business? “Why? Giving up your secure job knowing you’ll get paid every month”. You want to make a movie? “Why? That’s not going to get you anywhere and nobody else is doing it”.

Why the f*ck not? You only have this one life. You have this one life to accomplish as much as you can, you have this one life to help as many people as possible, you have this one life to live to your full potential. Why waste it?

You can do anything you want, the only thing stopping you from getting there is yourself. When you’re laying there on your death bed taking your final breathes going over your life in your head, do you want regrets? Do you want to be laying there wishing you’d do this and that, wishing you’d started that business, wishing you’d been healthier and prevented yourself being ill, wishing you’d climbed Mount Everest, wishing you’d asked that girl out, wishing you’d been brave enough to make that big speech? Do you want to be thinking how your life could have turned out if you did things differently? Or do you want to lay there with a big smile on your face telling your family you’ve accomplished everything you ever wanted to do and you have no regrets?

Create the best life you possibly can for yourself, help those around you, fill your life with amazing memories, live to your full potential, live a life you won’t regret when you’re on your death bed.

You only live once, make the most of it!

“Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not” – Pablo Picasso

This isn’t my usual sort of blog post or my normal blogging day but I feel it is needed and it is something some people need to hear, also bare in mind what triggers you is usually what changes you. It being Monday I thought it would be the best day for this post, please take on-board what I have said.

Thank you ever so much for reading and I hope this fired you up and hopefully helped at least one person to do something they didn’t think they could do, if it helped you please leave a like and maybe a comment to give me your opinion, thanks again. I will be back again tomorrow with my normal posts. Ciao!
