It’s ironic that the person you tend to neglect the most is the person that’s most important, namely yourself! I think it’s safe to say that most of us are very guilty of not being selfish enough and being too selfless and putting ourselves out too much for other people, this can sound like a good trait on the surface and it will make you lots of friends and make you well liked but trust me it is a very bad habit.
It’s okay to be helpful but when you are constantly wearing yourself thin and grinding yourself into the ground because you are too afraid to disappoint someone that’s when it becomes an issue. Most of us need to learn that it’s alright to say no instead of running yourself into the ground and potentially causing health issues down the line.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is give yourself a bit of TLC and have a weekend or even just a day where you concentrate on yourself and yourself alone. Do things that make you happy and put a smile on your face. Life is long, for the majority it’s safe to say you’re going to be alive for a very long time so have some time enjoy it.. anyway i’m going off topic and I think that point should be a blog post on it’s own so I’ll wrap this up before it drags on.
